Hello Ruthie... I don't know what happened, because the board looked to be on the right track, not so much time ago. Then, everyone left. But I'm looking to see this board still alive in the future to come, because we faced a lot of interesting, great discussions. They're precious "documents" in my view. I believe we ran out of things to discuss? It must have been around July/August 2003 that this board was at its most active. I had the board as my homepage and logged on every day always chatting discussing anything really. First to leave were the creators of the board like Captain Walker, Aunty Entity etc. Still more people joined and discussion went on still but eventually like the production of the black fuel, the discussion ground to a halt and a stopped.

That's a shame, I can see why that can happen though, as when you have talk so much about one thing and convered all the grounds, what more is there to say? I hope that more people come a long and the board starts to liven up again. I also hope Mel stops thinking he's too fat to be Max.

Hello people ! My name is David, I'm 41 (yeah, I know, old bastard) and I live in Sydney, Australia. I was one very lucky man during the filming of Thunderdome all those years ago. I took a series of photos of the Thunderdome itself the day before it was blown up. They look very much like "spy" photos because we had security guys on our cases. Thunderdome was built where the Sydney Olympic Stadium stands today (the site was an abattoir which is appropriate I guess). The jungle scenes were filmed in the Blue Mountains just west of Sydney. A friend took me to the exact spot where it was done. The plane in the sand was done at Kurnell which is right near the international airport just south of Sydney. If any of you have any questions for me I'd be more than happy to help out. Is it possible for me to post photos in here so I can share my Thunderdome images with you ? I'm sure you would enjoy them very much. Cheers, Dave

Dave, It would be pretty cool to put online an entire section on my site focused on the pics and featuring a sort of reportage ... written by you!!! One of the last men on planet Earth who had the chance to see the one and only THUNDERDOME ARENA still "existing" in our reality. Let me know, please...

Hello again guys. Sorry I've been quiet the past few days, I had my daughter with me over the weekend and because I'm seperated I only get to see her fortnightly. Anyway...... I was just going through my photos looking for the Thunderdome shots. I've just located two of them. One of them shows the Thunderdome in relation to the surounding area. The other one shows the "cars" lined up side-by-side. I've still got more to find. Once I get organised I intend on giving you a link so you can see them all together. And for the first time because in all the years I've had these photos I guess a grand total of 8 people have seen them. So why didn't I sell them to a magazine at the time ? Probably because I'm a thingyhead ! Stay tuned for more..... Ohh, and something else......you know when Max and the Gyro Captain fly over Sydney at the end and it's totally devestated ? Well, I saw the actual model the footage was taken from and it was mighty impressive. And the size ! I was shocked at how big it was. When I saw the model at each side of it was parked two of the "cars" from the Humungus gang. Not mocked up cars but the actual one used in the movie. Have I already said how lucky I was to get to see all this ? As I said......stay tuned...... Dave

So you're putting a page ON-LINE... well, at this point, we should consider it as a "proper" MAD MAX BEYOND THUNDERDOME fan site !!! Hey, I strongly raccomend you to write a reportage, just to make the pics more compelling and appealing. Then, suggest us the link... I will link you, of course. Then, you also might underline the page to PETER BARTON (www.madmaxmovies.com), he will put the link in his links section too. The world deserves to know it... more than any other thing.

I've sent an email to Peter Barton. His website is very well structured and a section with my pictures would suit it beautifully. It is good to see that someone has posted a photo of the Homebush Bay site from a couple of years ago. God, I thought all this stuff was destroyed !

Yeah, but it would have been much more cool if you'd create a web-page - just one, filled with the pics and the reportage/report.

Hello guys !
I've got a couple of things to report today.
I have finally bitten the bullet and bought Beyond Thunderdome on DVD. I'll sit down and watch it tonight which will be the first time I've seen it in more than ten years.
Today was very hot in Sydney so I did what any sane person would do....I went out in the sun for several hours. But all for a good cause. I went to the Brick Pit at Homebush Bay. This was the first time I had been there since 1984 when I took the spy photos. And how much it has changed ! I didn't recognise it. The photos I took today on my new digital camera have turned out pretty good and it gives a strong indication as to where the Brick Pit is compared to the Olympic site.
I'm still in the process of scanning the old pics and soon I'll have a "then & now" set ready.
I would still like to get my own section in Peter Barton's website so I'll keep you posted on how things progress.
If anyone wants some pics emailed to them please let me know.
That's all for now. Cheers, Dave ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just an observation here and I'm sure you guys are gunna haul me into line but: I assume that we all agree that Jebediah is not the same person as the Gyro Captain (even if both are played by Bruce Spence and they both fly!) but can we safely assume that the Max in 3 is the same person as Max in 1 & 2 I'm of the impression that it's NOT the same person. At the end of 2, Max is pretty knocked about. He even wears a caliper ! His face is buggered. He's almost a cripple. If you have these sorts of afflictions they are going to get worse as you get older AND have you seen any high-tech hospitals in these movies ? In Thunderdome he is running all over the place without the slightest hint of a limp ! Also, who else thinks that Mike Preston is the gayest character in any movie ever made To tell the truth I always thought he was gay anyway ;D
