One time, there was a bully named Butch. He had everyone in the school intimidated. He used to pick on one kid more than the rest. This kid's name was Joey, and Joey was smaller than most other kids his age.
One day, Butch decided to make fun of Joey. So, he went over to Joey and held up two coins. One was a nickel and the other was a dime. He told Joey that he could have only one coin and to take his pick.
Butch continued by asking Joey, "Do you want this nice, big nickel, or do you want this scrawny little dime?", holding each out to Joey.
Joey reached over and took the nickel. Suddenly, much laughter erupted from Butch and his friends. Joey just shook his head and walked off.
Butch, now beside himself, exclaimed, "What a dummy!", while Butch's friends all nodded their heads.
This went on each day of school for that entire year. Butch would find a time when others were watching and would offer two coins- a dime and a nickel. Each time, Joey would take the nickel. Also, he would be laughed at by Butch and his friends.
Some of Butch's friends even got into the act. All wanted to show how Joey would always take the nickel, apparently not able to distinguish the dime had greater value.
Finally, it was the last day of school, and there was a big assembly. Butch stood up next to Joey and called for everyone's attention. The all-purpose room grew quiet and then Butch held out the two coins. He announced to the crowd that Joey could take one, and motioned with his hands toward Joey. Joey took the nickel. The whole auditorium was in hysterics!
Butch, laughing so hard with tears streaming down his face asked Joey, "Don't you know that the dime is worth twice as much as the nickel, you idiot?!"
Joey calmly replied, "Had I taken the dime, you would've never offered the money again."

[glow=green,2,300]Clever Captain[/glow]
[glow=yellow,2,300][/glow] Many Generations ago a group of settlers left the Great Nortern Tribe. Using the little skills and supplies they had they built a small town in the Wastes, designed to welcome peaceful Nomads and groups. People that Only wanted an escape from the horrors of the Post Apocalyptic ruins of society. The Settlers named the town “New Haven”. All prospective members of the society were monitored closely. A crude yet well equipped police force settled any disputes harshly but fairly. As the years passed the town grew. A small council of elders was elected, which in turn grew to become a government. The first signs of order and safety for many years radiated out across the wasteland. However none of this would have been possible if not for the bravery of one man. The original founders of the Great Northern Tribe had originally started out refining the last of the black fuel. However, others wanted the fuel. A deadly marauding gang surrounded our ancestors refinery, demanding the fuel within. But one man still held within him the fire of courage. He came to the aid of our forefathers, freeing them from the tyrannous Lord Humungous, leader of the Marauders. Our Ancestors were saved by just one man, a raggedy man, a nomad, a scavenger... A hero....

Tycho, Hey, you could write a nice Mad Max fan fiction tale, after all! Maybe fillin' the gap between MM2 and MM3, or just supposing some possible scenarios for the Post-MM3 period... C'mon, start to write... you're good! I liked the "told story" so much... Cheers.

Thanks guys. The Idea of my second site [glow=green,2,300]"The Wasteland Online"[/glow] is going to be the legends and stories told by the fictional settlers of the town [glow=green,2,300]"New Haven"[/glow] Since some of them originally came from the Great Northern Tribe they will tell stories of how The Road Warrior delivered them from the evil Lord Humungus.

Tycho,
That's a resounding idea. It will be great. I took a decision here: I will link the WHOLE trilogy of Tycho MM sites, so I basically would do when they'll be "ready".
I suppose the "Out of Wastes" one will feature the Bartertown/Crack/Home chronicles, isn't it?
Tycho, I can't remember where did you "come from" in terms of fandom... Were you silently lurking in the shadows all these years? You seem to me an huge fan of the whole trilogy (rare) --- one of the truest ones. Tell me more about your passion. Why did you pop up just this year in the net?

I've always liked the trilogy, the whole idea behind the post apocalyptic world. I'd always enjoyed the movies when they had been shown on TV. However up until about 2 years ago I did not have a DVD player. It was only after purchasing Mad Max on DVD that my love for the films was[glow=red,2,300] Relit[/glow] And then, it was even more recently that I discovered the Mad Max FAQ's forums, having frequented the actual FAQ site many times. So now, once again I am an avid fan of the trilogy.

You're living the SAME state I was living about 5 years ago, when I discovered to be a "fan". Always been fond of the trilogy, but never realized it! That sounds strange... but TRUE!

I know! I guess when I first saw them I just took them for what they were, (maybe I was too young) rather than seeing not only the genius but the amazing way they created a whole world of adventures and stories untold. Now I finally own them all on DVD i cant really understand the brilliance, the MAGNIFICENCE!
[glow=red,2,300]Long Live Mad Max![/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Long Live His loyal fanbase like you and I![/glow]

I hear you guys! I first saw BTD and then RR, and finished it with MM. I have all three, and still watch them. I never was much of a fan, until I saw that so many movies came and went, but none left a lasting impression like the Max trilogy did. ;D

Mel Gibson really grew before my very eyes, as well. He started as this meek kinda kid and then became a most excellent actor. Very convincing in all of his roles!

YEah, Mad Max was one of his first BIG movies, and he did a fantastic job! Although Road Warrior seems to be preferred by many, Gibson had to act much more in the first, portraying his grief over the loss of his family, the murderous feelings of revenge towards the bikers and his descent into a dark emotionless killer.
