Gekko, Where did you find the pic from the deleted scene? (beautiful! Too bad they deleted this wonderful scene from the movie). Anyway, I'm not one of those who blindly believes in Captain Walker. I'm out into the Wasteland to search the truth somewhere. --- not speaking metaphorical Is there a God? I think there isn't an answer. I just have faith in "something" which created US ALL.

If there is a God, where would we begin our research for him?

I think inside OURSELF. Maybe we're just the living proof of God's existence. We and "fate" surrounding our lives: that incredible, undeniable design.

VERY good point Uncle, in fact that was a beautiful post. I like the point you argued and what you say may be true, depending on your outlook on life. I believe that if you believe in a supremem being then it/he/she does exist, if only in your imagination. I mean for example although many would deny His existence, everybody knows who He is. Therefore god exists in our imagination and memories. [glow=blue,2,300]You're blaspheming again, I don't have to work with a blaspemer...[/glow]

I think that most people will believe in God when put in a situation where they must, such as, a life threatening situation.

Is there a book we can look to for instructions about God? In other words, in searching for the "true" religion, what could we use as a chief source?

I don't think so, i mean every religion has it's own Holy Book, but each contradict the other so it's impossible to favour one. Anyone who looks at the issue from a scientific point of view, weighing up the Ifs and Buts always seems to conclude that there is no God/Bhudda/Allah etc.

Hahahaha!!! Good answer Tycho! ;D
That's the real subject, right? hehehe!
HB is right though, his question was pertaining to what the true religion is.
The funny thing about the Koran, Tycho, is that those seeking spiritual guidance from it recognize the Holy Scriptures found in the Bible as just that; Holy. Therefore, it would be easy to conclude that these writings, which are much much older than the Koran, have a bit of credence added as a result of that fact.
In comment to your statement regarding there being no God, we can look at the human eye. In all of man's wonderful achievements, none have been able to master an auto-focus lens that can adjust as rapidly as the human eye can. Yet, man, with his finite understanding, will explain away this obvious "construction" as that done by an inanimate force of nature.

I think the only plausible, non-religious, explanation for the development of the human eye is, that it started out as a patch of light sensitive cells used to find light sources. As the simple creatures that sported this "Technology" evolved so did the light sensitive cells, being able to distinguish the difference in light patterns which in turn allowed them to make out basic shapes. I guess this evolution continued until the creature was then able to Focus, albeit not very well. I guess this must have happened over BILLIONS of years until animals had the auto focusing black and white eyes they have today. I assume that as apes grew to humans and needed to distinguish between different types of berries (or something) they developed colour sensitivity.

Hello Tycho,
Your illustration of the eye developing over much time is a very much accepted belief in today's world. I must point out something to you, though. Insight may be found in the definition of a word you've used several times in your illustration. Notice the definition of this word:
Please continue this discussion with me in the new thread titled, Did We Evolve, Or Were We Created?.
Thanks,
