I re-watched Thunderdome (what a gianteous masterpiece!) and discovered this:
Gekko referred to "Co-Pilot" being "smaller than us, but it did it" --- he was referring to Max's monkey and its walkabout into the Nothing, of course! So the monkey has officially got its own name: CO-PILOT. That's beautiful!
(as it was predicted by both the script and the novelization, after all).
