I've just stumbled across this website tonight. I have some great photos that I took of the Thunderdome the day before it was blown up. How do I attach photos to a message ?

Your saying is universal and correct.
Now that I have all three on DVD I can see how Thunderdome is a natural progression from 1 & 2.
Very under-rated movie.
The Mad Max series changed the face of Aussie movies forever.
"But he's just a raggedy man"

Uncle Entity, Mad Max 1 & 2 can only be described as brilliant. Always were, always will be. Thunderdome was (by far) the lowest grossing movie out of the three. People just didn't "get it". Even today, when I mention Thunderdome to people they go on about how crappy it was. How it made no sense what so ever. I saw it at the movies in 1985 during the initial rush. Just before word got around that it was rubbish. I must admit that I was totally lost. Now that I'm 19 years older (and wiser ??) I'm really enjoying it ! Was it ahead of it's time ? I'm sorry Uncle for saying this stuff. Because I enjoy it now AND I took those spy photos of Bartertown 20 years ago AND I went back to the Brick Pit recently to get some fresh photos of the area AND I made the treck to Mermaids Cave to gets photos of that area too.....do you forgive me ?

MERMAID CAVE - BLUE MOUNTAINS - NSW AUSTRALIA Hello people ! Today I went to Mermaid Cave and took some great photos. These are going to appear on madmaxmovies.com very soon. It is a must see destination for any Mad Max fan. For those of you not familiar with it, it's where the "Crack in the Earth" jungle scenes were filmed. I even got to sit in the exact same places as Max did twenty years before. Luckily for me I took some still photos from the DVD of Thunderdome to take with me so I had a pretty good idea of what to look for. For starters you had to be nimble of foot to get in there. How they carried tonnes of camera gear etc in I'll never know ! Once in I was awestruck at how recognisable it was compared to the movie. The water fall running in the middle is pleasant. And what an echo chamber it is. I bet the sound guy/s had a bastard of a time ! The place is not easy to find. With no signposting at all and it was by pure luck that I stumbled across it. Rating out of 10 for wheelchair access: minus 10,000. If you would like me to email photos to you please let me know. Cheers, Dave

Just an observation here and I'm sure you guys are gunna haul me into line but: I assume that we all agree that Jebediah is not the same person as the Gyro Captain (even if both are played by Bruce Spence and they both fly!) but can we safely assume that the Max in 3 is the same person as Max in 1 & 2 I'm of the impression that it's NOT the same person. At the end of 2, Max is pretty knocked about. He even wears a caliper ! His face is buggered. He's almost a cripple. If you have these sorts of afflictions they are going to get worse as you get older AND have you seen any high-tech hospitals in these movies ? In Thunderdome he is running all over the place without the slightest hint of a limp ! Also, who else thinks that Mike Preston is the gayest character in any movie ever made To tell the truth I always thought he was gay anyway ;D

Hello guys !
I've got a couple of things to report today.
I have finally bitten the bullet and bought Beyond Thunderdome on DVD. I'll sit down and watch it tonight which will be the first time I've seen it in more than ten years.
Today was very hot in Sydney so I did what any sane person would do....I went out in the sun for several hours. But all for a good cause. I went to the Brick Pit at Homebush Bay. This was the first time I had been there since 1984 when I took the spy photos. And how much it has changed ! I didn't recognise it. The photos I took today on my new digital camera have turned out pretty good and it gives a strong indication as to where the Brick Pit is compared to the Olympic site.
I'm still in the process of scanning the old pics and soon I'll have a "then & now" set ready.
I would still like to get my own section in Peter Barton's website so I'll keep you posted on how things progress.
If anyone wants some pics emailed to them please let me know.
That's all for now. Cheers, Dave ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've sent an email to Peter Barton. His website is very well structured and a section with my pictures would suit it beautifully. It is good to see that someone has posted a photo of the Homebush Bay site from a couple of years ago. God, I thought all this stuff was destroyed !
